Wealthy plastic surgeon Gong Ki Tae is a successful and happy bachelor who does not want to find himself a wife. He believes that his life is perfectly planned, and being single is the only option he accept. In an effort to get his parents off his back about the constant string of blind dates and marriage prospects, Ki Tae purposely brings Joo Jang Mi home to meet his parents posing as his girlfriend, certain that they’ll never approve of her. It has so much potential in the first 2 episodes. I don’t understand who she really like (for the record, I’ve watched till episode 6) and she doesn’t have much layers to her character. I don’t know if it’s her acting, or the script, but she’s so over the top with the funny scenes so I don’t find it that funny anymore.
Which usually, ends up in my getting hurt all by myself as well while none of the others really know how I felt the entire time I was pleasing them. And now really frustrated cos I want to see the next episode. I notice that you keep asking why don’t the characters do this and why don’t they do that… The simple answer is because if they did, they would be different characters and this would be a different story. But is it just me …I loved Ki Tae’s comment to wait and he would come to her buuuuuut why did he stand there….he made no effort to physically move.
So, when I discuss her biggest weakness, it is not to disparage her but to measure just how far she has traveled since the opening of this drama. She wants to be wanted, but she just showed up and decided what she wants more is to be accepted and loved. She wants real connection and Yeo Reum is giving that to her because Gi Tae’s playground tactics and lack of directness isn’t much different from Se Ah’s.
Kiss Forever Of Love (
Unless he don’t want to admit there can be a woman who’s not really interested in him because he grabs people’s attention wherever he goes. I think I finally see JM’s jealousy in this episode, at the end when she called KT and SeAh picked up. I think that was the breaking point for her, for why she chose to go with YR. I think everything just hit her at once, and being told she was pretty was just the final trigger. See, I saw that as YR defaulting back to ‘keep it light’ in order to avoid being hurt. Remember his line from before about how if he’s serious, people tell him he’s being too heavy.

Despite his prickliness, KiTae seems to genuinely care about JangMi and he clearly feels badly for her when she gets dumped on (which happens a lot). He could certainly use more tact but I think he really wants JangMi to make better decisions for herself. And on the flip side, JangMi starts caring about people so quickly – she worries about KiTae, about his mother and his grandmother. https://datingupdates.org/ She has a really big heart and she tries so hard to reach out and connect with people even if they’ve hurt her and let her down. She’s definitely flawed but there’s a lot of good in her personality too. Mom says that Jang-mi doesn’t get to interfere just because she’s spent some time with the family, which is almost exactly what Ki-tae said to her the night before.
Dad tries to calm her down and she rounds on him, calling him the worst of the family. She asks what he’s been doing while Mom sacrifices herself, and the looks of discomfort around the table hint that Ki-tae isn’t the only one who knows of Dad’s infidelities. Jang-mi starts to say that she saw him with a woman but Mom stops her, and pulls her aside. At home that night, Jang-mi breaks a glass and flashes back to being home alone as a child, where she broke a glass and cut her feet badly.
Middle Ages up to early modern period
His character should be this flower boy/ knight shining in armor 2nd lead we’re used to except he’s a bit shady and the oddness of him always smiling make one unnerve so I rather think it’s on purpose. Super happy to see you also recapping this show, LollyPip. Your comments are always insightful and it’s clear that you’re really enjoying the show, although it helps that the show is actually good so far, ha. Also i feel like he’s so afraid to make ugly faces that he keeps switching between 2/3 expressions only.
I just think that at this moment it’s just SO MUCH EASIER to root for Yeo-reum than Ki-tae, he’s been much nicer and better to Jang-mi than Ki-tae has. Ki-tae knew Jang-mi would be scared locked up, but when he finally found her he put his own frustrations and fears ahead of hers and YELLED AT HER. It was Yeo-reum that comforted her. She’s been having a few horrible days of dealing with Ki-tae’s mother and all Ki-tae, who should know better than anyone else how impossible it is to escape once the woman decides to control you, only offers criticisms and absenteeism.
As Joo Eun said, what does it matter if you exude sexiness, but your life is bland, the spices are missing? In my ripe age I see a lot of divorces among acquaintances and it really doesn’t matter how you look, how thin you are, how pretty. In the long run your character is the most important ingredient for a successful, loving marriage. Also, Uncle wants the company for his nephew, the step-grandchild of halmoni.

When questioned about Ki-tae, Jang-mi blurts out that he’s selfish and rude, but Grandma doesn’t take offense and says he needs someone honest like her. Jang-mi pouts that he always wants to be alone, and Grandma gets teary-eyed and sobs that it’s all her fault. She says that she’s lived too long and should just die, and then…she collapses.
And, for all we know, that is how she would been for the rest of her life. Ki-tae is left watching her escape with another man, maybe only now realizing how much he cares about Jang-mi, and how much he’s allowed her to be hurt. Another dress has the mothers in sync now, and Ki-tae’s mom tells her to suck in her tummy, tilt her chin down, criticizing her posture and attitude without a word about how absolutely stunning she looks in the beautiful gown.
And she does not realize yet just how crazy it can drive people around you. Of course for the sake of the comedy it’s turned up to the next level, but there are actually people like that (I know some of them), so it’s not like the whole idea of it is unbelievable. And it’s not like Jang Mi is doing anything inconsistent with what has been shown to be her character. She’s probably attracted to lighthearted, superficial men because of her parent’s incompatible relationship. But what she hasn’t fully realized (yet), is that a superficial relationship will ultimately end up being just as unstable and painful. Maybe soon he’ll have a complete breakdown and reveal he is truly an infamous serial killer!!!
